Named for Chief Peta Nocona, husband of Cynthia Ann Parker, city
is famed as the "Leathergoods Center of the Southwest,"
with several firms producing leather products. Nocona Boot Co.
displays boot making tools from the 1890's. City park offers
picnicking, playground facilities; adjoins 18-hole municipal golf
course. Nearby Lake Nocona offers water sports and camping facilities.
