Willacy County seat is commercial center for rain sorghum, cotton, citrus, vegetables and corn. Favorable summers and winters allow 300 day growing season. Recreation includes municipal swimming pool, golf course, city park, and saltwater fishing in Laguna Madre and the Gulf of Mexico at Port Mansfield. Farm and Ranch Museum has cypress fence and gate through which stagecoaches ;passed in 1866 from Corpus Christi to Brownsville. Open Wed., Fri., from 2 to 5 p.m. Located at Harris and 7th Streets.
